He was accepted in the Residency of Orthopaedic and Traumatology in São João Hospital, Porto obtaining the final grade of 20 (20), in January 1994.
He obtained the title of Specialist in Orthopaedic and Traumatology Surgery with the final grade of 20 (20), in January 1994.
In 1995, he applied as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in São João Hospital, Porto and he was approved, in first place, with the final grade of 20 (20).
In July 1995, he applied for Professor of Orthopaedic and Traumatology of Porto Medicine University and he was approved with the higher level.
His PhD Thesis was entitled "Chronic lesions of the anterior cruciate ligament".
